Inhumanity is Tom Dziekoński from Poland. The name choice for his band is a bit bad, as there are more Inhumanities in metal music fields. Anyways, he now presents us three songs as pre-production demos. So, I guess there's an album or EP coming out in future. Inhumanity's style can be called as Sphere metal. And what the heck is that, then?!
Well, you know Pestilence and their album 'Spheres' (1993), yes? I'm not asking do you like it, but Tom D. surely must praise it to heavens and beyond. Not only are riffing and general atmosphere like from that album, but also a few lines of vocals sound like Patrick Mameli lite. 'Multiverse' is a piece with varying non-typical rhythms, some heavy-handed riffing and "out there" leads, spacey and warped synthesizer/guitar synthesizer work. It is a grabbing song for sure, where metal meets fusion jazz eccentricities. The guitars are not about thrash or death metal, but influenced by those styles, but just dragged into different territories, and sometimes heavily put through effects. 'Decaying World' starts with straighter rhythm, but does have its moments of peculiarity. The style is close to the opener's. Wacky 'Quantify' is more on the electronic/computer music side. It reminds me of Mr. Bungle more than any metal music, even though the metal guitars are there.
The production level is light-weight. This was probably recorded at home with a PC. However, that does not mean this sounds like crap, because it doesn't. Everything is well audible and clear. However, it lacks of lower end. Programmed drums are a little bit too loud over anything else, but they are well thought out and programmed. Overall, it has a machiney feel to it all. Or maybe "cybernetic" would be a better term...
Inhumanity goes beyond the realms of metal music. It might get too chaotic an experimentation for some. I find these three songs intriguing. At the pre-production stages, the quality is already better than on many label-released full length albums, both compositions and sound-wise. If you want a short trips out in space in future, then try this! Good luck with the project, Mr. Dziekoński.
