If there was a band so similar to Dismember, this album totally depicts it. The raw production (but well mixed), slashing guitars fixated with deep throat, tempos ever changing, and absolute insanity of an album. But this insanity (not overtly technical) is accompanied by an atmosphere of hatred, madness and spellbinding riffs that just own you. When I gave this a few spins I was hooked. If you're in the mood to hear utmost brutality and musical domination, 'Godconstruct' is where its at. Weird intro to the album and some spoken words alongside these heavy guitars and raw intensity.

You'll notice some blast beats here and there, however, overall you'll get a complete mix of all different tempos. It never bores you because it's always changing up. A lot of tremolo picked riffing is there and the music is so much in the vein of Dismember's 'Like an Everflowing Stream' (1991). Not an exact replica, but that is what to expect on this output. Original sounding riffing despite that similarity I've spoken about already. Just good to hear that the death metal scene is still hearing old school stuff via my era. Impending doom and utter slaughter of your soul (pawned off from At the Gates), leads that just dominate as well.

Madness galore, it's like a friend said: "It kills." That's an understatement. It good that some bands are still reliving that 80's and 90's metal with just utter talent and not this overuse of technology to make the musicians sound better than they really are. Yes, I have many qualms with today's bands just using the hell out of blast beating and double kick drums that are way overused. It makes listeners think that these kind of bands (or I just think) are wasting away your time with this type of sound. Being like old Dismember or in the vein of them basically means that this band/album is definitely dominating your eardrums.

There isn't much qualm regarding any of the songs. As I've said, there's songs that beat the shit out of your ears and others that are slower paced utilizing talent and ingenuity to their output here. I've heard previous Lifeless songs and didn't think as highly of them as I do on this monumental abomination. You don't get much in the vein of variety in the vocals, just mostly guttural with a few instances where (like I said already) some spoken words. I think Lifeless holds true to this vein of death metal that's so needed for today's listeners. The music just owns you and constant riff changing not hearing much of anything that's repeated relentlessly.

I gave this album an "A-" only because of what I've been talking about-the relation to Dismember's dominating death metal sound via the 90's circa. Total bringing back awesome death metal sounds that completely will disrupt your eardrums. I'd say that overall, there was nothing really stale to say about the album. Great raw production, atmosphere, recording, mixing, and everything like an everflowing stream. If you're into death metal and want to hear what's out there, fresh and new to your ears plus like older school death metal, then 'Godconstruct' is where it's at. Pick up this gem of an annihilation!
