A new band for me to check out, then. The band's name means something like "method of sin", I guess. The lyrics are about killing people. If you're into gore, there certainly is some sick tales here. One is about a person, whose arms and legs are cut, then the living torso is fattened, and eaten at a family dinner. Another one is about a guy whose mom used to suck his cock a lot, but then she passed away and now this fella rips off girls' teeth and fuck their teetless mouths until they choke in blood and cum. Lovely!
This album starts with something like Trivium, believe me! Well, metalcore-ish stuff, but yeah, that was just an introduction before fast grinding and somewhat technical death metal begins. It's US style stuff, mostly reminding me of Dying Fetus. It can be shredding, blasting and generally very fast, or it can slam its ass around. The songs are filled with many parts and tempo changes, despite they are often under 2 minutes long. Another weird one is the interlude 'Beyond the Mask'; this song is a harmonious, sometimes beautiful guitar track. It's out of context here. The vocals vary from low growls to guttural ones, and to pig grunting, just as expected. The vocals and instrumental performances aren't bad, but the music simply feels too much of "cut & paste" type songwriting; I didn't manage to find any red thread in it! Oh, the longest piece is a Vomit The Soul cover...
Sadly the production is weak; not much bass frequencies can be heard, except during boosted up drum/bass punches. Clanking bass guitar is somewhere there... Also, the thin 'St. Anger'-ish snare drum gets drowned under all the racket. It is totally wrong aural environment for music like this.
When I checked out some cheap albums and this one was listed, I spun a couple of tracks to decide if I should get it or not. I did get it, but do not understand why. This is nothing but trivial and empty grindcore/death metal mess. By the way, this is the band's sole full-length album among many EP and split release. But you know, this one clocks in under 24 minutes, so...
