I'm not an avid slamming brutal death metal advocate, and there's basically just one reason for it: I often cannot stand some of the vocal styles, like pig squeling. Mexican Human Decomposition are not one of these ham-sters. 'Wormhole Prototype' EP is their latest release, and already over five years old.

The first track is a short intrumental, showing what to expect: Huge sound walls, groove and heavy gravitational pull, plus organic drum sound! Compositions-wise, this is mutating, but definitely not chaotic, like Wormed for example. On technical level, this is not very high, but still adequate and well-performed stuff.

Hacking and mangling playing, fast tremolo picking and perverted shrieks are what guitars offer. The drumming fluctuates from slow pounding to fast blast beats. The bass is well-audible with its hewing tone. The mid-paced double kick drum and palm-muted guitar parts are simply effective, being the leading prime. Then again, there are some bits I'm prone to forget, because there's just not enough to cling to. Every part change isn't fluid, as at times it feel like a song almost may halt.

'Slamming in da Club' was inspired by 50 Cent's song 'In da Club'. I had to check the latter one out, and yes, the main "melody" is there in more brutal way, and to tell the truth, I do not know if it is a cover or not. Anyway, it is just as fucking jumpable as Pro-Pain's 'Death on the Dance Floor'. So, everything is not as tight as possible, but looser drumming really does work here and there.

The gurgling, shrieky and guttural growlings are very typical for the genre, and one certainly won't understand anything vomited forth. The voice is powerful, and far from the most annoying defecations heard, even though little piggy is channelled at times, as well as a congested gutter. The lyrics have some interesting sci-fi bits, if that's your bread; the Titor conspiracy for example was new to me.

So, experimenting with building a wormhole, Human Decomposition have made an okay EP, but it does not have that much of gravitational pull into it. One for slammers only, but then again, it stays in my collection and it worked as another spark for me to dive more into extreme and brutal stuff. Go getcha gravitational pull!
