Engineers of fucking NOISY death metal return with their third full length assault of gory antics. 'Goremageddon' is my first taste of their perverted sound, though.

When you want a nice stew of intestines and gore, Aborted is one of the ingredients together with Americans Exhumed and Impaled. All those three bands have same big influence: Carcass (R.I.P.). Aborted cover English masters' 'Carnal Forge' here, making it sound more modern and heavy yet still keeping it very similar, almost note-to-note. However, Aborted are not a carbon copy of Carcass, because a lot of their heaviness is influenced by the likes of Suffocation and Dying Fetus.

More than half of Aborted's metal is fast. Some of the fastest parts are fucking insane, but the band have managed to make most of them comprehensible. Which is good, since insane blasting with no real direction do not work, not for me. Aborted vary the pace throughout the songs, but it is no surprise that when the band snip even a bit off of fastest speed they can go, those parts are the best, music-wise. Insanity does not snip off anyways. Sick, gut-twisting riffing and guitar shrieks are accompanied by rather melodic parts, not the pussy way, but just like Carcass on 'Heartwork' (1993). These songs were catchy enough to get me interested yet the music is also twisted enough to keep me listening to this on and on. This sounds Aborted enough, even though there are times when I'm asking myself "where I've heard that?".

The Jacob Hansen production at the Hansen Studios in Denmark shines like a thousand suns. It is one of the heaviest, most pounding and pulverizing of all productions I've ever heard. It throbs almost as it was performed live. Performed live, but performed perfectly. I mean, just listen to this bloody drum work! The whole band do their stuff magnificently. The fast parts can be also bloody heavy, which is proved by Aborted, but those slower parts, hell! Sounds like bombs exploding. The vocals are angry and vary from growl to more shrieking outlet. The lyrics are based on real serial killers, eating the dead, shit and other "lovely" themes. Gruesome yet stylish artwork with the lyrics and inclusion of 'Meticulous Invagination' video-clip make this look great.

If you are into gore death metal or any bands mentioned above, you really should check out Aborted's blasterpiece 'Goremageddon'. It is LOUD and violent!!!
