This piece of gory deathgrind from Portland's sick motherfuckers Lord Gore is metal as fuck! Even though its cover art is Manga-style with big eyed, big titted 'n' hard nippled, tight assed bitches, the music is pure American insanity, as one can expect on Razorback Records' roster.
Lord Gore perform primitive yet so-fucking-headbangable brutality. Good catchy riffing, pounding beats and nasty vomit duets cannot be escaped by death-fucking metaller. The pace of the music varies from gut-stretchingly slow to blast beat mayhem, speed-o-meter's needle keeping mostly in the middle or under it. Guitar riffs are solid and heavy, something in vein of Autopsy, Impetigo, Carcass, Impaled and such acts. Guitars squeal and are tormented in many ways. Distorted bass adds heaviness, while drumming can get quite hectic in the middle of doomy beats. Vocals are all naturally recorded. Growls are gut-low or high-pitched or something in between, plus various vomit voices are utilized to the maximum effect. A lot of samples are included in beginning, middle and at end of songs. Expect some insane lines! Razorback have listed "gory intestine removals, chopped up bodies, butchery, flesh eating, sexual deviancy, rotting zombies, rabid cannibalism, human depravity, grisly killings" as lyrical themes. Maybe this is nothing new, but the band have created an album which can bear Lord Gore logo instead of any other, if you catch my drift. And what is the most important thing, this is enjoyable violence influenced by end of 1980s - mid 1990s suppurating metal.
The production is raw and studio tricks are absent. Guitars are rusty in a dirty kind of way and all the details are left on the record. While drums are audible, snare could be nastier. But fuck it, it's organic and that's fine. Last track, Impetigo cover, has more demo level production job. Just don't expect the actual song to last 36 minutes. There's a boring sample looped on for 30 minutes, so it kills the possibilty to random play this fucker, fuck! Why do this kind of shitty ending?! However, 42 first minutes are painfully pleasurable sonic torment.
