In 1985 some German metalheads had a wild idea: let's record some Christmas songs! And they did...After a healthy, long diet of beer, that is! Anyways, guys and a gal from Fact, Holy Moses, Living Death, Mekong Delta and Steeler are responsible for this.
9 Christmas carrolls have been metallized. There's loads of double kick drumming, shredding riffing, infernal soloing, gremlin vocals (well, Rage's Peavey actually sings, heh), gang vocals... Shortly said, German thrash/speed metal elements. Only thing is, that songs were probably recorded with one go and with improvised solos and other things. If original songs are awful listening, these metal versions aren't much better, to tell the truth. People surely had fun time in the studio drinking beer. Sadly, they had to stop drinking for recording periods. I heard this platter for the first time last Christmas. I had to dug it out again this X-Mas and had some homemade wine (which did hit my frontal lobe with fury) to go with it, but no, I just can't find anything funny about these recordings.
Might be one for those who love the bands from which the makers are. I just can't think of anyone else who could enjoy this bastard of a record.
