Ah, time for some İskender metal! Unleash was formed only just last summer, and the band approached me at the beginning of 2007 with a request to review their first demo 'The New Constitution'. Surely, nothing against some thrash metal!
A "trend" to mix thrash metal with some death metal bits ain't a new thing. And it surely ain't a bad invention, eh?! Guys of Unleash can't be novices in their profession. There's no room for limp performance here, but neither for present trend of forced, overdone dummy-metaldom. Not suitable intro (must be from some movie) before 'Creeping Justice', whose title reminds more than a bit of Metallica, starts with a short spoken intro (again, from a movie), turns out to be an adequate old school thrashier in German style. German style? Well, it's a slightly punky, bingey and fucking a blasting song. There's some Metallica in the main riff, surely, but with the 80s feeling. Growled, throaty vocals are the real difference.'Its Time to' is a tad more hectic a song. When listening to the last two songs, it becomes clear that the songs aren't on the par with two first songs. Anyays, I like that metallic bass, that reminds me of Testament's 'Practice What You Preach' (1989).
The attitude is great, but the individuality is lacking. That's nothing new on offer, but there's energy and feeling flowing in the music. So, a good start for the band. 'The New Constitution' is available for free as a download, so quit whining.
