Beginning a release with a soundclip from "Hellraiser" movie isn't anything new these days. Well, anything on 'Postmortem Pleasures' ain't new, to tell the truth. In fact, Necrotic Flesh's brutal death metal smells like an old corpse.

The band have chosen the way of pure ugly death metal. There's no technical extravaganza on offer here. However, Necrotic Flesh is more active than an old corpse, and pretty much more interesting. If you aren't a necrophiliac, that is... Well, if that happens to be the case, there's a song dedicated for you. Lyrical themes are fucking funny! 'Coprophagist' is about a guy who used ate his own faeces, but got dulled about it, and then decided to make children whose shit he can eat for bigger pleasure, haha. 'Postmortem Self-Digestion'. Hmmm. A dead guy eating himself in a coffin and having a hard-on! Then there are typical mutilation and bestial fucking themes, of course... 'Necrotic Flesh' differs from gore/shit-eating topics, being the band's anti-Christian signature song.

Okay, now about the music. Low-tuned guitars grind together with heavy bass, deep growling vokillist, and lots of double kick drums and some blast beats too. This is pretty much from mid-paced to fast material. It's certainly a mixture of old school Swedish and US death metal that comes to my mind, but sadly Necrotic Flesh haven't created songs that are anywhere near the classic death metal songs. Well, that ain't a simple task. Some riffs and chord progressions are certainly rather sick. There are good enough songs on offer for a freak who craves dirty death metal. What I like a lot is the heavy sound! It definitely makes for less good musical moments.

There's not much more to be said about this debut album, except the cover will surely raise a few eyebrows... So, only those who are searching for more heavy and dirty old school death metal need to apply.
