'A Session Trenhy Campbell'... Who is/was Trenhy Campbell?!?! Well, not a human being, that for sure. You see, when you say "trehny campbell", it sounds like "treenikämpäl" in Finnish ears. And "treenikämppä" translates to "rehearsal place". This 5-song EP was recorded live at the band's rehearsal place (except for the vocals parts)... That's the mystery behind "Trehny Campbell", which took me a few minutes to figure out, hehe!
Supreme Court perform heavy rock with a touch of metal in their music. Even though metal music influences are quite rare on these songs, the riff on the chorus of 'The Long Road Nowhere' is a nice obeisance towards Megadeth. This song is easily my favourite of the bunch. Generally SC's take on rock is rolling, groovy, at times bluesy and definitely heavy. Each of the songs are also catchy, just try creepy 'Ghosts of Yesteryear' and feel how its tentacles grasp your body and bounce it around. The feel is live, as it actually is. And I believe SC would work the best way when seen live. Vocals about shitty life are quite whiskey-burned as they are howled with so-so attempt to hit certain tune.
I could sum it up like this: Supreme Court is a result of gangbang where Black Label Society, Blake, Xysma hitted the hole, and Entombed spewed its cum upon mons pubis and a few spermatozoons managed to swim in that hole too. It's definitely spunky for what it is, but I wanted it to be more metal.
