New blood in thrash metal circuit! This quintet are called as "creators of a new wave of thrash metal", but fuck that, Mass Extinction are pure 1980s North American thrash metal continuators, even though they come from Ireland. This promotional version includes Vio-lence cover 'Killing on Command'. Mass Extinction simply fuck you up with it! You can hear it on the band's MySpace.com page, by the way (*hinthint*)...

And now onto the band's own material, which is of the same ilk as the Vio-lence cover. That means intense, speedy riff and rhythm section interplay. You can smell the sweat (coming from yer speakers, not from yourself), you can taste the metal! Guys haul all their energy into their performances, believe me, it's rapid and accurate as hell. Drummer grew himself another pair of hands? Guitarists' fingers must have been shortened by insane shredding, yes? Angry shouting that's also credible, back up by old time gang vocals. The riffs are good, truly memorable, the drumming is thunderous. Sometimes I feel it's also linked to Testament. The songs are lengthy, but not purposeless, since there's changes every now and then, never too late. They flow well, although the tempo seems to be pretty much the same throughout the recording. This is old school, but not worn-out. New wave thrash metal done in the vein of old masters, I'd say, only because this is updated with nowadays aural technology. But I mean in organic way, not polished. It's simply heavy and up-to-date.

My only, and a tad lame, nag is the cover artwork. A death metal style picture, but logo tells the truth; thrahs metal to the bone. I really can't come up with anything else! So let's wrap this review up: 'Creation's Undoing' is an atom bomb for every thrasher out there, so be sure to pick this one up! Something you'll never hear from Machine Head... A huge "fuck off" to modern metal, and a totally credible one, too. If this doesn't make you bang your head, then METAL music ain't for you. Mass Extinction are upon us all. Hail them or be crushed like an insect.
