Another old school thrash metal demo coming yer way... Dutch Crushing Jackhammer debut with 'Time to Thrash', a demo that includes seven slices of nasty thrashing. Did I say "nasty"? Yes! Do you remember the time when thrash metal actually was nasty as fuck?!

Crushing Jackhammer manage to be retro, but not old school. The reason is a drum machine, that is utilized on this demo. They got a flesh 'n' blood drummer already, so the thing's been fixed, because while the drum machine is not at all badly programmed, it's always just a machine repeating same samples all over. Guitar sounds like it's 1980s again, thanks to its sharp, tearing tone. Speedy and very intense riffage remind me of old Whiplash and Rigor Mortis, maybe even old Destruction at times. There's some hooky riffs for sure. Vocals are angry and anguished shouting, fitting well with the guitar. Sound quality is overally pretty shite, but the energy level is still high, and songs itself good if not very varying at all.

Hopefully the next effort will sound much better. This is promising, at times very much so, but shitty recording does affect very negatively to the overall feeling. Still, if you want some intensity in your thrash metal, why not check out these fellas.
