Established in 2005, Romanian Loudrage have been chosen as "Best Romanian Death Metal Newcommer" by www.metalhead.ro already in 2006. 'Rage Unleashed - Tale of a Murderer' is the band's first own aural sample.
And it is pretty professionally done in all ways. Menacing cover artwork leads listener into the world of brutality, which according to the band sounds heavy, mid-paced and groovy. Think of Six Feet Under having a bash with Sepultura somewhere around 1996. It is totally "groove over technicality" with Loudrage. Bass plays as big part as a guitar, and surely there's loads of double kick drumming to be heard. Loudrage roll on powerfully, but also without leaving much memory traces, I'm afraid. That's because the music is filled with muffled riffage and low growled vocals are just that, nothing more. A surprising thrash metal guitar solo is heard, by the way. Interesting (and I do not mean only that woman's moaning...) samples give breathers for a listener. Mainly this is modern-sounding grooving, with some mallcore touches infecting it. Soundwise this reminds me a lot of Sepultura's 'Roots' (1996).
Personally I've never become inspired by this kind of sonority, but if you want your daily dose of modern groove metal, then give Loudrage a try. This is professionally done, as mentioned earlier.
