I've always wanted to hear some retro-thrash bands that play a style of thrash metal similar to Megadeth's first two albums. I read a review of this band's demo and thought to myself "hey, their main influence is Megadeth, so they should kick ass, right?"

Since the demo has only three songs, I'll look at all three of them individually. The first track is 'Footsteps'. It starts off with a cool riff and goes into a short solo that really reminded me of the one in Metallica's 'No Remorse'. The drumming is pretty simple, but matches the guitar work well. The vocals are similar to some of the more obscure German thrash bands, Violent Force etc. The other solo that comes in a while later also sounds like a solo from Metallica's 'Kill 'Em All'. Decent song, but goes nowhere.

The next song, 'What the Eye Sees' starts with a cool galloping guitar riff, but soon another guitar riff enters which sounds EXACTLY like the riff in Megadeth's 'Wake up Dead'. The vocals are very annoying in this track and really turned me off. At 1:55 the galloping riff from the start of the song enters the fray again and leads up to a solo that sounds like it was lifted from a song on Megadeth's 'Countdown to Extinction'. The solo ends, the 'Wake up Dead' riff comes again and the song ends. Another okay song but when this finishes you realize that the band doesn't have many original riffs in them.

The third and final song is 'Thought Eraser'. This is an awful song, and the riffs are almost as pathetic as the vocals. The riffs in this song are probably the only truly original riffs in the entire demo, but they really suck balls. The song changes tempo and goes into a slower part, but it only makes the song worse.

Overall, I'd say the demo is decent, but the band really need to stop sucking Dave Mustaine's dick and make some original riffs. The riffs in the first two songs are basically lifted from Megadeth's first two albums and the solos are similar to Mustaine's during his Metallica days. I don't look at originality much as long as the music kicks ass, but this was ridiculous. If these guys can't make decent original music, they're better off just playing covers.
