This is actually pretty decent thrash metal. I'm pretty sure that no-one could have predicted that this generic but delightfully fun thrash metal band could go on and make the most filth and vaguely atmospheric death metal albums to emerge from Florida.

The two songs on this demo are pretty similar in structure. Fast verses, slow choruses, and nice melodic solos. If you listen to the two songs carefully, you'll notice that the band was influenced by Celtic Frost even early on their career. Listen to the first couple of seconds of 'Metal up Your Ass', and I'm sure that the first thing to cross your mind will be Celtic Frost. The faster riffs bring Slayer to mind. Not the 'Reign in Blood' (1986) era Slayer, but the 83-85 era Slayer. The music is best described as a mix of early Slayer, early Metallica and early Celtic Frost.

If you're a fan of Obituary, I suggest you download this demo. Its kind of interesting how this sloppy and generic (but again, FUN!) band became pioneers of the death metal genre. I also recommend you listen to the songs if you want to find out how John Tardy sounds like when he ISN'T delivering great death growls!
