WWE metal. Both the songs on the demo feel more like a WWE wrestler's entrance theme instead of being real full fledged metal songs. Probably the closest comparison I can make is Pantera, but with melodic solos, strange death metal vocals and breakdowns. That description may bring to mind Lamb of God's 'Sacrament' (2006) album, but the two songs on this album have more in common with Pantera's 'Cowboys from Hell' (1990) than Lamb of God's 'Sacrament', mainly because of the catchy groove riffs.
The two songs on this demo are pretty different though, and on all possible fronts. The only similarities between the two songs are the things I've mentioned but there are a ton of differences as well. The production is very different. 'Try to Die' has a very bass heavy production, and it gives the guitar tone a very beefy feel. 'The Plague', on the other hand feels more thin. 'The Plague' also has a noticeably more metalcore feel to it, and not because of the breakdowns, because the breakdowns were present on 'Try to Die' as well. The metalcore feeling probably comes from the Gothenberg riffage in the song, which manages to sound like a curious hybrid of In Flames and Pantera.
The breakdowns are awful, and the songs are lengthened because of the largely useless breakdowns. The breakdowns are all the same too, and not the least bit tolerable, still the overall music is quite decent, if unoriginal. Not entirely mediocre, because there are some enjoyable moments in this.
