Now, what we have here is a Polish band, that cannot be compared to Behemoth, Vader or Decapitated. A welcomed shift from the usual... Túrin Turambar is an anti-hero in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-Earth sagas, but the music doesn't follow Summoning, either. 'Corona Regni Satanæ' is the debut release from the band, which features Stillborn bassist ataman Tolovy. The song material dates from as far as 2002, even though partly re-composed in 2007.
Túrin Turambar surely do not let listeners go easily. Their mixture of black, death and doom is made quite bloody warped with old Voivod style tech-thrash influence. So, a lot of disharmonics are to be heard, then. Then they carry some industrial music influences. The band do not follow any typical or basic songwriting methods. This fact causes both, cries for joy and on the other hand, remorseless headache. Whereas 'Drugi Dom Os', for example, is memorable piece, then some stuff is total mess. The vocals are filled with variety, ranging from spoken lines to black metal ones, and to nasty screams. The production is raw. I cannot stand that lead guitar sound, which penetrates my skull with its whizzing noise.
Túrin Turambar are an interesting entity. However, their methods of songwriting and performing are too much "out there" for my liking. The attached letter contains the following line: "The debut that should not be", which should tell something. If you are searching for some extreme metal, who knows how good you might find this one.
