The British Isles are taken over by highly contagious virus, and when infected with, will turn a human being into a zombi. Well, that virus is hit music, which, gladly, does not appear on Zombified's second EP 'Backroom Eugenics'. In contrast, it is appropriately filled with carrion-like stink of old school death metal. All 15 minutes of it...

That is what I hate about EP's, because sometimes they aren't cheap at all, but can last for a quarter of an hour. At least Zombified solely serve new material with this. It's not about technicality, but more like simplistic yet speedy death metal. Some bands that come to my mind while listening to Zombified are Autopsy, old Death, Machetazo, Desecration and such. Zombified guys have created some good riffs here and there, and I have no complaints about compositions; they are infectious enough. Well, if you pay some attention to them, that is. They also sound bad-ass. The guitars sound rusty and ripping, bass and drums pounding (the pace of the music varies from primal blasting to slower torture tactics), and low growled vocals surely contain stomach acid in them. Points for some nasty guitar squeals and fucked-up solos.

All in all, Zombified can hit nail on its head more than once on 'Backroom Eugenics'. Being a 15-minute long, it still contains quite a load of dowdy, but oh so tasty and corpse fart smelling death metal. Nothing ground-breaking, except in a zombie movie way, where corpses raise from their graves. Exactly: How would you be able to resist such stuff?
