This 2nd demo from Helsinki-based Thyestean Feast is the first published demo. What you get is kind of a death/dark/black metal hybrid.

Four tracks in eleven minutes ('Diarya' is actually an 1-minute intro) ain't much, but sometimes it is more than half an hour of boring unvaried crap. The songs are okay, especially 'White Widow' rules. Somehow this brings bands like Dissection and Thy Serpent into my mind, even though the songs are shorter. Maybe it is those sad/melancholic/cold melodies. Guitar solos are nice and memorable, definitely a highlight, but overally the guitar sound is a bit thin.

After a few spins this begun to creep under my skin. M. Häkkinen's vocals are quite good indeed, with a twist with "R". Quite raspy throat... Lyrics are (anti)religious matters and if I'm not totally wrong, 'White Widow' is about drugs? Performance is good, but sound is somewhat weak, or should I say "not heavy and ripping enough"?! Still, this is only a demo... But a good one! Try it, it comes with nice color covers with lyrics. A promising effort, if nothing truly unique.
