Progressive-tinged Clock Paradox return with their second demo recorded during the same year, only a few months later. This release cleans the table off of old stuff, but includes also up-to-date music.
Clock Paradox do not bow to any genres. They do whatever they want to, and the result might sometimes be a bit patchy. Like the opener 'Spaceship01' for example, which begins with groovy and discordant metal and takes a turn towards Opeth-sounding eerie calmness, and then returns to how it began. 'Nooperative' is a very intense piece mixing death/thrash and some old Helmet style dissonant rock (well, that's about the only band from such which I know well enough). 'The Noble Men' offers prog rock melodies to the soup. Then it's time for math stuff on 'Forgotten' and the closer 'Introverted' is... I'm fucking out of adjectives! It just mixes same things heard on previous songs. "Bonus track" 'The Noble Dude' is an acoustic version of 'The Noble Men'. Shit, these guys can surprise, as there's some Tom Waits on it, let me tell you!
Even though there's no any single style where Clock Paradox operate, the demo sounds uniform enough. They use the same soundscape which is built from dissonance, rumble and organic feel, which is somewhat muddy, too. But always better this way than clicky and edgeless. The vocals are very multi-faceted. Anything from low gut-growl, shouting, clean singing, among others. One combining element in the band's performance is that it is very impassioned. Again, the lyrics are pretty unusual and get my both thumbs up.
'Promosexual2009' isn't as striking as the debut demo 'Promo 2009'. Well, I think fellas included all the best songs on the debut anyways, even though at least 2 first ones are close to the same league, and there's really no boring moment here. These songs too need quite a lot of spinning before they start to really work. Clock Paradox do what they want to do, kicking mud over trends, and they are one of the more characteristic bands out there. Isn't a good song always the most important thing and not genres?
